Some say there are some albums that are definitely better on vinyl than CD. I know many will say ALL are better on vinyl, but are there any albums that are hands down superior on vinyl?

I picked up Dark Side for like 5 bucks as a flier. It isnt a comparison. Most played album.

Blonde on Blonde in mono is essential.

Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" is great on Vinyl

Steely Dan's whole collection sounds great

(Recent stuff) -

John Mayer "Born & Raised" is definitely made to be played on Vinyl

Bon Iver
The Shins
Grizzly Bear
Radiohead

Foo Fighters just recently released their stuff of vinyl, and I just picked up "Colour & The Shape"

Does anyone know of a good place to get a record player? How much do they generally run?

I only buy vinyl now, unless I can't get it in vinyl. The artwork is worth the extra $5-10 alone, and vinyl holds its value much better. I just sold a John Frusciante album for $150. I bought it for $15 3 years ago.

every time dad dusts off the record player like once a year, I love it and always seem to notice a fuller sound, as if certain instruments or parts are highlighted or are more noticeable.

ETA: an example I found a couple weeks ago was "All Right Now" by Free. The main guitar riff's chord changes were significantly more noticeable than usual. Then again it may have been due to the record playing just a tad faster than it should've

Agreed.

Modern: The National is incredible on vinyl.

I still have all my records, but never liked the cleaning process. I keep saying I'm going to buy a turntable, yet never do.

Nice! I'm just getting into vinyl. How did you know it was going to be so valuable? I'm assuming there was a limited amount released?
