The last Girl Group record?
Signed to a Stax subsidiary; this was essentially an update of "Leader Of The Pack"
You can always tell Memphis girls

I hope that isn't Lorena's band. For Mr. Lee's sake.

Bonnie & the Treasures - "Home Of The Brave"
Wall of Sound treatment of a Mann-Weil song. It's a Phil Spector classic in all but name (on his label, but his protege Jerry Riopelle gets official producer credit). It battled for airplay w/Jody Miller's inferior version, which was the bigger hit.

Essentially an answer to "Dead Man's Curve" & "Don't Worry Baby", at the same time

4 pages. Not ONE mention of the GG that sang on the most #1 songs in history. The Andantes. They weren’t considered “pretty” enough to be upfront like the Supremes, but they sang like angels and backed up every other artist/group at Motown Records.

This came out in 1971. IMO, this is the undisputed best Supremes track, and I’m including when Diana Ross was up front! A little psychedelic, a LOT of funk, but at its heart, a girl singing about a boy:

Yes, excitedly awaiting his Sunday night bump threads of Classic Country Jukebox, The Beatles, and this thread once again.
