Easily one of the best records of the 2000s. I remember highly anticipating it and then it exceeded expectations. Certainly their most mainstream album and a psychedelic pop masterpiece.

Person Pitch moves a little too slow for me. It's good background music.
Merriweather is my favorite AC album. Strawberry Jam got me interested in the band, then Merriweather sealed the deal. I agree with the OP in that it's their best album. I don't care for some of AC's really early stuff. It's a little too noisy and abstract, but Merriweather is just perfect. It's a great summer album. I gotta listen to it now!

I really like that album. Its very accessible for Animal Collective.
Personally strawberry Jam is my favorite AC album. But MPP is definitely #2.

No album (for me) reaches MPP but some songs like Chores, Fireworks, and especially Grass do.

The Purple Bottle is AC's best song IMO.
