Not even on par with the best 80s rappers? Slick Rick, Chuck D, and a few more are all better story tellers IMO.

I will say his ability to have laid back flow like on Spottieottiedopalicious and then to pick up speed on songs like Southernplayalisticcadilicamusik is impressive. I do have to say though, old UGK had some great story telling raps
