How hot was she at peak as far as “rock” girls are concerned

I never could explain it but I liked her a lot. And I liked that first album. Flame away...

But what happened to her??
So weird. She definitely had a wonderful and different voice but never made it like Gwen Stefani or Alanis Morrisette in terms of popularity.

Evanescence still plays arenas and headlines festivals. They’re big in rock/metal scene, but rock simply doesn’t break into pop culture much anymore.

Yeah, that period, early/mid-aughts is the last time any sort of new or younger "rock" acts made waves.
Evanescence, All American Rejects, Flyleaf, Paramore (and that wave), were the last commercially successful/promoted "new" rock acts who also made something of a splash, pop culture wise. At least unless I missed something in the past 10 to 12 years. (ETA: I guess, Greta Van Fleet, recently, but that appears to be a one-off.)

Always liked her voice. My thought was always she should just "shut up and sing".

I imagine their music getting tied to the Daredevil movie didn't help either...

Her voice is fantastic...wise up.

quote:Evanescence was doomed from the start. She and Ben Moody were just high school friends who'd written a few songs and didn't really have a band. They were always bolstered by studio musicians and control, which is why their first album and subsequent live tour album and video were so impeccably produced.
But what happened to her??
Ben Moody left pretty early on, and the band became a revolving door of studio musicians. The first crop, Terry, Rocky and Will, were very good and created a good image for the band, but all were eventually fired, and all have running gag orders that prevent them from divulging the circumstances surrounding their firing.
Amy is the only original (of two, really) band members still with the band, and she married her shrink a few years back.
