...and your point is?

Once again, money is the objective of all these guys whether you admit it or not. Once they have so many listening they get paid to mention these things similar to the way TV shows get paid for product placement.

Do you think the director of Breaking Bad would turn down lots of money to get Walter White to drink a coke in an episode? Is that guy "selling out to corporate America?"

my point is their point: ethics matter. authenticity matters. respect matters. art matters. the point isn't money. the point is making art that at the end of the day you can be proud of and that you like. when other people like it, it's even better.

FGL and AA couldn't be more diametrically opposed in their origins and their current paths in music.

do you think FGL's path is sustainable? I don't.

Who knows. I do know they have set themselves up for longevity in music though. If they flop from this point on, you and I would at least have heard of them and there will always be a gig to be played.

They can always retire to their mansions and enjoy their millions while AA has to live out of a van half the year on tour.

oh sweet jesus that is terrifying. unfortunately for you, FGL will just be an embarrassing footnote in pop music.

outside of postseason nba is just as borin as regular season mlb. nobody plays defense and they just take turns shooting at a goal that they can rest their chin on the rim. there's no such thing as real basketball anymore.

lol nba. that gave me a good laugh. thank you for that

Underwear?

Them new fangeled mesh shorts are underwear? In your day I guess they were knickerbockers or pantaloons or something? I know ankles being revealed was pretty scandalous but I dunno about underwear

I've got to say that they're dead on about the current state of country music. Our neighbor was blaring country last night while I was sitting out on the back porch drinking some whiskey. After about my third whiskey, I started serenading my wife with twangy, improvised lyrics. It was so freaking easy to just make up the trite crap.

"Driving down the road in my pickup truck, hit a nail, now that's bad luck. Having a HARD TIME. Walking outside with my dog, tripped and fell over a log. Having a HARD TIME."

Then I switched it up.

"Hit the beach for spring break. just like having birthday cake. Having a GOOD TIME. Plug of tobacco and some chaw, I saw yes ma'am and ya'll. Having a GOOD TIME!"

The best was that my wife actually thought I was singing real country songs. That's the current state of pop country music. I'm heading to Nashville to be a songwriter.
