How do you like the new song, "hollow"?

It is probably my favorite rock song in years. It was one of those songs I heard once and I loved it. That feeling hasn't happened in years.

I hope the rest of the album isn't a disappointment. It seems that "90s sound" is back with that song. I can only hope the rest of the album delivers. We need a turn around in rock music.

Sounds much like old AIC, though without Layne Staley. Quite impressed with Hollow and looking forward to the new album.

It really is a good song. Given the bands current line up 20 years later, it is nice to hear a quality song even now.
Jerry Cantrell man!

As much as I want to like this, I just can't get into the new AIC with the new singer.

Jerry sang with Layne on most of the songs anyway, it isn't like it's a completely new singer.

Grew up always watching them, and Yzerman was my favorite player.

Cool Story. It was either a day or two after Nick Lidstrom retired... I watched the Red Hot Chili Peppers at Joe Louis... it was either one or two days after Lidstrom retired

Listen to Red Fang or wait for Queens Of The Stone Age's new album. YW.

I wish AIC would go back to rocking like they did on Dirt.

I listened to the whole album, "Black Gives Way to Blue", at least 2 or 3 times and nothing stuck out.

"Hollow" does sound like classic AIC, but I'm afraid their moment has passed.

Nothing beats "Jar of Flies" (except they could have punted "Swing on This" - which is "The Crunge" of AIC songs).

I realize this but I just mean since the new AIC started, it just doesn't do much for me. There's just nothing exciting about their new music.

Like Ace said, their moment had passed. I am nostalgic about the old AIC stuff but I can't connect on the same level with the new. I suppose it's probably because I'm 20 years older.

That new song is really cool, but it sounds like an AIC cover band with the new vocals not quite a match with the original. I wish I could get more in to it.

I hate that it is true. I mean, Jerry and Sean are great and Mike I. has been with them awhile, so if you wanted to go see them live, this is it. Mike S. and Layne are gone and nothing can change that.

I didn't really explore much more than "Facelift" before Staley died. I really got into "Jar of Flies" and "Dirt" after that. 6/7 of "Jar of Flies" is one of the greatest EPs ever, ever.

William Duval sounds exactly like Staley live. The last album really doesn't do him justice.

There's no question the mixing/edition on the last album was partially to blame for a somewhat harsh sound. I admit the new song "Hollow" is more what I expected last time. We'll see...
