I know, right? I can't believe so many people think Adele is some transcendent singer.

The thread title was begging for disagreement by calling her the "best singing voice," which is arbitrary at best. You can praise her singing without acting like the arbiter of vocal quality.

You think she has the best voice. I personally don't care for her voice at all and think it has a put-on, faux sultriness to it.

It seems alot of people in this thread cant distinquish the difference between a great voice and a great vocalist. Adele is no doubt a great singer with perfect pitch control and can do a type of falsetto that difficult to get to being as that she's so deep and raspy. Her voice is just simply not pleasing. Think of the chorus to "Someone Like You". LINK When she really starts to project, she gets very masculine and it doesnt sound good, it sounds harsh (The "nevermind, I'll find..." part)

Now contrast that with Pink singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Go to 1:00 when she really starts to belt it out during the verse. It's soothing as if it were your mother singing you to sleep as an infant. She happens to be a better vocalist than Adele and has a much purer voice as well. She also has a way better vibrato than Adele too, who's is mediocre at best.

the post saying "there's a lot of stupid in this thread".

adds nothing at all to the conversation.

I never have a problem with people having a different opinion on anything really. It's what makes the conversations fun.

ETA: i can see how it got confusing.

Since Linda Ronstadt.

Before her, Streisand.

Before her, Aretha.

Years from now, Mt. Rushmore of "Popular/Rock" music will have the faces of Elvis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Adele.

I'm confused on the argument that Adele doesn't have a great voice because she sometimes sounds more masculine, can a masculine voice not be great?

I love some Adele.

But I always felt like Norah Jones never got enough love. She really has a beautiful voice.

I prefer Kelly Clarkson's tone and power but Adele can sing with so much emotion it is just amazing.

Not when it's coming out of a female
And I never said she doesnt have a great voice, it's just not the best (as this thread title is claiming and is preconceived) or even in the top 10 of vocalist today. Again, she is a fantastic singer.
