I'll add:

Dinosaur Jr- You're Living All Over Me
Sonic Youth- Sister
The Smiths- Strangeways, Here We Come

To my personal tastes, all the years that end in a 7 are especially strong (1967, 1977, 1987, 1997 and 2007). Hopefully that's a good sign for this year.

Also Come On Pilgram is a totally kickass EP. And at 8 tracks it isn't far off an LP.

Pleased To Meet Me - The Replacements

Not true vintage 'mats, but their last great effort. Left me wishing Jim Dickinson had produced "Tim."

Lots of good stuff that year, but only one that mattered historically.

87 was a killer year for metal, just like 77 was a great year for punk:

Candlemass - Nightfall

Anthrax - Among the Living

Testament - The Legacy

Voivod - Killing Technology

Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence

Rollins Band - Life Time

Overkill - Taking Over

Dokken - Back for the Attack

Coroner - R.I.P.

Death - Scream Bloody Gore

King Diamond - Abigail

D.R.I. - Crossover

Metallica - The $5.98 E.P

Trouble - Run to the Light

Suicidal Tendencies - Join the Army

M.O.D. - U.S.A for M.O.D.

Faith No More - Introduce Yourself

Possessed - The Eyes of Horror
