Yellowstone Ranch Name?

Is the Ranch named after Elsa? Her husband called her yellow hair, lightning, etc. Seen some stuff on the internet saying the ranch was named after her.

I don’t think we’ve seen how/when it was named yet. There are still huge pieces of the history missing.

Gonna take like 3 more prequel or sequel series to flesh out the Yellowstone universe. I mean, we still hardly know anything about the family that owns the Dodge dealership that sold them the Rams.

Lewis and Clark translated the name for the Yellowstone River from the Indians in 1805, and the ranch (and Paradise Valley) are along the river, so it would make sense to name the ranch after the river.

Agreed, the Yellowstone River is canon on the show and they even border the national park which was incepted prior to 1883.

And it was pretty easy for the Indians to name it the Yellow Stone River
