Very rarely when I watch a movie it sticks with me but I watched this Tuesday and keep thinking about it.
The general consensus as well as I think in order of how good they were, the stories went 1 - 3 - 2
I think the movie immediately tells you what it’s about with you hearing Sweet Dreams before you even see a frame of the film. If you listen to the lyrics, they say “some people want to use you/some people want to be used by you” which is true of the first and third stories. Plemmons’ boss wants to use him, and after everything is taken away, Plemmons longs to be used by his boss again
And then in the third one, the cult leaders Dafoe and Chao use their subjects and Stone desperately wants to be in/return to the cult so she devised a plan to use the vets power to bring back the dead
I still have no idea what the message was in the 2nd one. Is the whole thing in Plemmons’ head as he continues to become unwell due to his wife going missing?
Anyway very well made, if not incredibly strange movie

There’s one point of the movie where you see her boobs and it comes at the most unexpectedly hilarious point of the movie

I thought the 3rd story was the best, followed by 1, with 2 being the weakest. Fun watch overall though. I’ll be in the minority, but I enjoyed this much more than Poor Things.

She’s made some really weird movies lately

It was a bizarre film with great acting. I like weird shite, so I enjoyed it. Almost immediately recognized the New Orleans landscapes. Pretty cool.
I am not sure what to think about the 2nd one. The swinging couples, the island ruled by dogs, the implied cannibalism for survival, the removal of body parts, imposter wife, the blood licking of a gunshot wound, real wife coming back at the end. Strange stuff indeed. I'm assuming it's all a big metaphor, but what a way to convey that.
