Agreed, Rickman was perfect casting for that role. Can't even begin to imagine anyone else playing Snape.

Did yall read the article where Rickman said Rowling told him the ending of his character on day 1 of Sorcerers Stone? The way he played the character through all the movies was directly because he knew the endgame, apparently perplexing the directors as well.

I dont hate Connery for it. Dude has made his money, and is ready to hang it up. Theres a lot to be said for walking away.

That's just it though, he didn't hang it up. He decided to do League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2002 or 2003.

You laugh but will is a great actor. Djimon Hounsou should have been Django. His "D" is silent also.

Dougray Scott walking away from Wolverine, he doesn't do that, you probably never hear the name Hugh Jackman.

Smith wouldn't have been good as Django.

Which is exactly why the director wanted him first. He turned it down because he felt Schultz was the main character not Django. Smith was who Tarantino wanted.

. Jack Nicholson (The Godfather)

This might be the most intriguing off all of the possibilities on this list. The Godfather is considered by many to be the greatest film of all time, and though Al Pacino’s portrayal of Michael Corleone can hardly be questioned, we have to admit, we’d love to see just a short clip of Nicholson in his shoes as the heir to the New York mafia. After all, Nicholson did a terrific job in a similar role much later in his career as Frank Costello in The Departed.

Luckily it didn't pan out that way.

Bela Lugosi turned down the role of Frankenstein which then went to an unknown named Boris Karloff.

I can't imagine Nicholson pulling that role off. Pacino was perfect. I can't imagine Nicholson fitting in in Sicily, or using the subtle facial expressions and voice inflections Pacino used to make the character one of the GOAT

Tom Selleck could have been Indiana Jones

Keanu Reeves was about the 5th or 6th choice to play Neo in the Matrix. Will Smith and several others all turned it down

Burt Reynolds turned down Die Hard and James Bond

Liam Neeson turned Bond in the 90's b/c he didn't want to do action films.

I thought Connery turned down LOTR after doing LOEG because he didn't understand that either and it tanked.

Had Die Hard been made 10-12 years earlier (more based on the Thorp novel) it would have worked. Burt was money in Sharky's Machine.

Donald Sutherland didnt turn down the role in animal house but insisted on 50k instead of 30k + 15% of any profits the movie made.

Only cost him about 20 MILLION dollars, no biggie
