Clark should be played by Tom Hardy. That is exactly who I picture when reading the book.

Jordan would be fine. Just stick to the book, set when the book was set.

Then get Denzel to play the older Clark in a current rainbow 6 movie.

He’s a lot like the Equalizer character anyway.

Is is he a former college swimmer, like the actual John Clark?

Or is that being retconned out?

Wrong hue for today's Hollywood.

Yes, I did.

Especially because part of Clancy's motivation for this and Rainbow Six was to frick his soon to be ex-wife out of $$$ because she had a piece of Jack Ryan. That's why his name is not in WR at all at only mentioned in one line in RS.

Because Hollywood doesn’t want you to think selling drugs is a bad thing. They don’t want to victimize all the hard working drug dealers out there that are only doing it to put bread on the table. It’s the white man that caused this.

will not watch. Without Remorse is my favorite Clancy book and I won't watch them butcher it

Yeah, but they're missing on a great "meta" opportunity, here.

In the legendary HBO series The Wire, MBJ played Wallace, a young, entry level drug cartel employee for the Barksdale organization (itself based at least partially on Melvin Williams' operation in the 70s and early 80s, who appeared in The Wire as The Deacon) - *SPOILER ALERT* - and is killed when he shows some conscience and the fear is he will flip. His friends are assigned to kill him.

Having MBJ as Clark going ham on the Bmore drug gangs would be sort of a way for Wallace to get revenge on Stringer and Avon, again, Avon loosely based on Melvin Williams who was operating around the time of Mr. Clark's *ahem* "episode."

But, alas, apparently that is not meant to be.

I'm not a fan of retconning or appropriating, which ever is used, of established characters. Tom Clancey wrote this story as is, and to have some woke Hollywood pukes come in and coattail off of his works is petty, weak and lazy.

They wanna make an actual hero character with a lead black guy? Fine, but stop stealing other people's shite.

I’m good with MBJ as the lead, and same general plot but different details:

- Navy Seal takes troubled woman under wing
- gets her killed while perusing her pimps
- starts to hunt down pimps
- gruesome torture of pimps( would love to see death by barotrauma with a decompression chamber)
- local detective thinking he has a serial killer on the loose
- MBJ going on covert mission worthy of the CMH
- local detective closing in and MBJ being saved by the CIA

MBJ must jump between sadist and hero and be effective to make the retcon work. If I finish the movie confused whether Clark is a hero or no different than the pimps, it will be a good movie.

This is some booshite. I was eagerly awaiting the torture in the decompression chamber scene to come to life. I will now wait until I hear that it is included. If it isn't, I guess I won't be seeing some bastardized
Hollyweird version of a classic.
