Why would HBO put their shows on amazon or other streaming services the minute it comes out?

According to their website they plan to have the show available in hbo go and hbo now at 9 Eastern tonight, which is when the show actually airs. Let's see if that holds up.

Do you mean so you can buy an episode from Amazon or do you mean you bought an HBO subscription through your Fire TV? If you have an HBO subscription you should be able to watch it when everyone else does. If you're looking to buy the episode, isn't that usually a next day thing?

Always been the case for HBOgo.

Now, if the servers hold up and don't crash at 8 due to overwhelming request to watch is an entirety different story.

I've got the HBO channel on Amazon Prime, and from what I've read, it will be available when it premiers. If not, it might be an hour later or something

The show is notorious for crashing during the first episode. They've been doing it for at least 3 years in a row as far as I'm aware.

By the old gods and the new they better have learned from their previous years mistakes.

I will break something if it crashes.

I think he has the HBO subscription on Amazon Prime, same as me. It's like $15 per month, which is what you pay for HBO through cable.

It seems to me that participating in a thread while watching the movie would ruin it.
