You know from discussing the movie previous to its opening weekend box office that I wanted it to do well and be great so again you’re creating a false narrative using paradoxical logic.

If you’re going to use statements to create a narrative use them in chronological order.
- i thought it was a mistake to hire him to run the DCU for stylistic reasons
- I thought it could work if he was an overseer who hired the right creatives when the rumor came out that Kosinski was approached to direct SM
- when the first screenings and synopsis leaks came out I though it was so wacky that Gunn had made something which might shock everyone with how good it might be
- the movie came out and I thought it was fun but you know my criticisms of it
- now that it’s underperformed the bigger criticisms I had seem to be shared by the fan base and the outlook is poor. My excitement in the interval has given way to my first inclinations based on his track record.
“Having skin the game” doesn’t apply to Gunns Superman underperforming. The only skin in the game I have is wanting good Superman movies so we can have more of them. A reset does not give us more Superman movies. You’re using paradoxical logic to create a narrative.

It's amazing to me that people actually believe this nonsense. Studios aren't greenlighting films that need 700-800 mil just to break even lol. These Studios have the best (or shadiest) accountants money can buy. Some folks need to read up on Hollywood accounting practices.

quote:they’re already working on a sequel. If it doesn’t work, they’ll probably try again. But if your skin in the game is just having more movies, you’re getting that. It doesn’t mean that you have to go on annd try annd talk about the movie flopping and “busting”. Have you thought that maybe it could be superhero movies in general or having some trouble? Especially world wide? The numbers kind of support that. Because it did better than a lot of stuff domestically. Maybe people might actually like the movie? And want more? Do you know of another director that you think would appeal more to the foreign box office? What are your thoughts? How would you improve it?

You’re hopelessly dishonest
Posted on 8/18/25 at 5:46 pm to abellsujr
You skip over and twist anything that doesn’t fit your narrative regardless of facts. This movie didn’t do well, you say there’s a sequel in production when Gunn refuses to even admit he’s making a Superman sequel, getting snappy when people ask him if he is. Superhero movies are in trouble because they’ve been bad and disconnected from the characters just like this one. The good ones still make a lot and these outliers continue to pop up for as long as the “fatigue” cope has been pushed.

What are you talking about? He’s already confirmed future Superman movies. Where do you get your news from?
Posted on 8/18/25 at 5:53 pm to abellsujr
Refuses to say it’s a Superman sequel. So guardians part 6 with different characters.

According to Gunn, it's not a Superman sequel. Why do you want him to say something that isn't true?

Superman does this to people. They want their Superman. But everyone can’t get what they want. I think right now with superhero movies, It’s hard to tell what any good call is. We just know that Superman is doing the best of them this year.

Ask the poster arguing that. You just repeated what I said but you come after me lol. More proof of just how dishonest you clowns are.

Your comprehension needs a bit of work. The other poster said Gunn has confirmed there will be future Superman projects. That is not the same as saying his next movie is a Superman sequel.

Backpedal and reframe. People who’ve never had an ounce of accountability in their lives often do this. Your lot practices it

Have you ever read A Confederacy of Dunces?
Sneaky suspicion you're LARPing as Ignatius J. Reilly.
