I love the show and I am a guy. It's a good show.
With that said, the last 5 or so seasons, they make the show way too much about Olivia Benson, and less about the victims and other characters. It's more like "how can we get Benson assaulted, raped, beaten, shot, etc., then make her the hero at the end?". And they mix in an actual crime story with other victims in to mix it up.

They've gone out of their way to make Mariska Hargatay as unattractive as possible. She's no longer allowed to smile.

She is beautiful. That show, maybe on purpose, makes her look about as unattractive, and about as unromantic, sexually awkward as she can be. In the few shows that they have put some focus on her having a relationship with a guy, her body language and her interactions with them are more like a gay male relationship. Like how two men would romantically interact with each other(not that I know or have any expertise on being gay

My wife watches this shite like a religion.

I’ll admit that I don’t mind the show. My gf watches it all the time and I’ll watch it with her.
My only problem is the constant badass’ness that Benson has and her ability to almost never be wrong. The few times she is wrong I cheer out loud.
Ice-T is badass in the show, imo as well.

Chris Meroni leaving was the end of that show being great. Removing the Munch character was the end of it being good.

True story. If you removed SVU and HGTV from the air then female television audiences would immediately decrease by 50%
