i mean she's the love of his life but, she aborted his baby which also included sterilization and lied to him about it.
Also, he's always been in Jamie's corner. Not sure how that continues if/when he learns about his role in the abortion thing.

I wonder how long the writers have known that's the direction the show would take. I've always thought that turn seemed a little forced. So, she has treated Jamie like shite for 20+ years since the abortion happened, and not once has the abortion EVER come up during the tongue lashings she gives Jamie daily? Just find that hard to believe
I also think it's bullshite she 100% blames Jamie. He was a child too. Neither of them weighed the consequences of their actions down the road. They were simply children who were trying to cover up one bad thing with another in the hopes no one would ever find out. She was as complicit as Jamie.

And then there was John getting pissed at Jamie as an adult for something he did as a teenager.
I'll give Beth a little slack because Jamie never owned up to his role in the abortion fiasco. I think that's really what pisses her off. I'm sure Beth blames herself plenty.
But yeah overall, the whole scene was completely absurd. There's no way they'd do that procedure without her consent, especially being a white kid from a powerful family like the Duttons.

Bingo. They first said they wouldn't do the procedure because of their ages, then he shows them his DL showing his last name and they're like "welp, now that you put it that way, we'll go render John Dutton's daughter infertile. Right this way children"
If John Dutton and that family are as powerful and ruthless as they have shown to be, there is a 0% chance those people would have ever performed that procedure without getting consent from John. I mean it certainly has created drama with that, coupled with Jamie being adopted, but come on, they've jumped the shark just a bit. I love the show, but some of the turns it has taken have gotten completely unrealistic. The bombings, gun fights, and cold blooded hits in the middle of town, with no legal ramifications or even involvement are just hilarious at this point. A gun fight in the middle of nowhere with some Indians on the border in episode 1 season 1 is one thing. Still a little unbelievable, but not nearly as much as some of the brushed under the rug carnage ever since.This post was edited on 1/26/21 at 4:55 pm

I ended up not hating Jaime nearly as much as most. He gets put in terrible situations by his family. Used as a tool by his father with zero concern about what Jaime may want or what might be good for him.

I couldn't stand how big of a pussy he was. I totally get what they were doing w/ the character and they succeeded with me.
Now, once I finally saw how jacked up his lower teeth were I couldn't unsee it. From that point forward all I would do is stare at his crooked arse teeth every time he was on screen.

I feel bad for him because he is exactly who they wanted him to be. They sent him away to boarding school to be the sharp lawyer he became and not be another ranch hand. And now they call him a pussy because he isn't the rugged character like Casey and Rip are. Well, of course he isn't. You wanted Jamie to be the attorney and politician wing of the family, Beth to manage the business interests locally, and Kayce/Lee to run the day-to-day at the ranch. Each of the children, except Kayce before he finally returned, fulfilled each roll laid out for them by their Father, yet Jamie somehow gets shite on by everyone when he actually puts his neck on the line and gets more shite done politically/legally more than any of them have. Yet Kayce can abandon the family and seems to be the golden child with everyone. Hell, he even got his hands dirty by killing that undercover reporter that was about to ruin the family publicly. Granted, he created the story she was going to publish, but he also handled it ultimately.

they entered Sons of Anarchy territory a long time ago
CNN would have a camera crew posted up in that town for a year with all the crazy stuff going on
