We all love it and you are right. It survives and gets a pass due to great characters, some great acting by a few , and some unreal scenery.
I think we all fell in love with the ideal of the show with something that large being protected by a old school guy too.

Of all the scenarios they could have killed off the Becks- the way Malcolm went out was cheap. I didn’t feel like we got a good payoff after all the shite they stirred up.
Is it possible he didn’t die? They never showed him nod off and Costner “said” he was calling a chopper to take him to the hospital.

What connection do the becks have to the militia? Seems like an extremely random spot to leave Tate.

Yeah, I was wondering this too since Season 1 ended with Dan Jenkins hanging from a tree and he survived.

Feel sorry for whoever buys the plane at an estate sale. The whole planting a bomb scene was pointless. It almost seems like they did an alternate ending that was just a swing and a miss. The attack planned from 50 yds, the Indian there to assist and just paints the horse, Rip drawing fire and not hit, no one from Yellowstone injured against the militia.
How long of a shite was the one Beck brother taking that he didn’t get the other’s message? And with all the firepower the Becks could hire, why the backwoods militia? Why hide out there in the end?
Very disappointing finale ... but still a fan of the show.

I thought the finale was kind of a let down.. And where tf did all of the Neo Nazis come from? At no point in the show have they ever even mentioned that. And then all of a sudden, there's tons of bad guys with swastikas and shaved heads? None of that made sense. It seemed cheap.. like they just needed a shootout, so throw in some 'easy to tell who they are' bad guys and call it a day. How many white supremacists do you think are in BFE Montana? I thought the Becks were mob affiliated. The Rip scenes were great though. And not much Monica this week

So true. It didn’t even register that it was him at first because we’re waiting for some dramatic plane ride and yet he’s there instead for some reason running around with the militia guys who he must know at that point are about to be attacked.

Another sloppy scene was when Kayce put the other Beck brother's fingerprints on the gun and left it there with him.
I get that he is trying to make it look like a robbery, but after about 30 seconds of investigating they would realize that Beck's wounds are from the same gun he supposedly was firing at an intruder.

Well, on a positive note, Monica was less annoying. "kill them!".
Rip survived. I was really scared they were going to kill off the best character on the show.
It didn't lean on how badass Beth is.
Why not have someone like Jimmy draw the fire instead of Rip, who you just left the whole ranch to?

Love the show, can't wait for the next season, but the finale was easily the worst episode so far.
I can usually suspend my disbelief, just enjoy TV, and not read too much into things, but this episode had too much nonsense in it.
With that said, I'll be glued to the TV when the next season comes out.
