As a kid in the 60's we played Cowboys vs Indian s and Army. When we played Army, it was always the U.S. vs Nazis.
There’s a reason why the military comic books of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s focused on WWII instead of Korea or Vietnam.

And should I be worried what that says about me?
Nah. We like our history to be entertaining, which generally means horrific and exciting. King Richard the Lionhearted or Henry the VIII still pop up in movies. King Edgar the Peaceful (no, really, there was a King Edgar the Peaceful) not so much.
Hitler was a car wreck that played out on the world stage. He's partially responsible for the largest war in the history of mankind. You add in him being prone to extreme flatulence, a failed artist, and a drug addict it just adds a little weird spice to things. Plus Germany lost the war so we really delve into everything.

There's a lot to learn from his documentaries to be honest. I watched one a while back that stated Hitler may have had Parkinsons and a doctor went through hours upon hours of video to substantiate it. Don't recall the name but it added to the mystery of Hitler and was a good watch.
