Power doesn't but knowing that its director was convicted of having oral sex with a 13 year old sure as shite does.
That has absolutely nothing to do with the movie.

So what? I never said it did.
But I'm not going to watch a Roman Polanski flick and be able to ignore that he drugged and raped a 13 year old in the arse so odds are I'm never going to pick to watch one of his movies to watch over the vast majority of directors.
Same applies here.
He could have directed the Godfather for all I care. A shithead that shitty being heavily involved is going to ruin a flick for me.
Sorry for considering the artists involved before I consume the art broham.

Using your logic I assume that you research every person involved in the making of a film from the janitor team, to extras, to supporting and lead actors, to the director and producers. I assume you'll boycott a film if one individual has a criminal past.
Taking this further, I assume you boycott all Hollywood movies since this type of behavior is commonplace in the highest echelons of Hollywood business.

No I don't research every single person involved in a flick and no I'm not going to assume every single flick has a massive POS like that attached.
and GTFO trying to act like having sex w/a 13 year old is the same as an all encompassing "criminal past" or trying to bring in shite like janitors and extras.

Actually what I was implying is that Hollywood is known for that type of abuse. It's prevalent in Hollywood and happens all the time. In fact, several powerful producers and directors have been accused of doing the same thing that Powder's director did.
The difference? They haven't been criminally charged yet (and may never be charged due to their wealth and power).
I never said that the crime he committed was acceptable.
The point I made is that if you're going to boycott this movie because of one employee's behavior, then you might as well boycott all Hollywood movies because that same behavior exists throughout that industry.
Hollywood is a den of sin, greed, and criminality.
I take a different approach. The director of that film committed an atrocious crime and should be held accountable.
However, far more people contributed their talents to the making of that movie and they should be recognized for making a solid work of art. The director is not the movie. The team is the movie. They, nor the movie, should be boycotted for the director's actions off camera away from the set.
You lose.

Phenomenon gets my vote.
Powder was a bit of a pouty emo-shithead and not very likeable.
Travolta's character was an "everyman" guy that has something amazing happen to him.

Powder even with its strong pedophile overtones.
Victor Salva is such a creepy, creepy, creepy kiddie fricker.
