I don't know where it was filmed, but John Chisum was a real person who was involved in the Lincoln County War with Billy The Kid.

They filmed YG2 in New Mexico and most likely they filmed a great portion at Eaves Movie Ranch - 105 Rancho Alegre Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Pretty much every western film nowadays uses this ranch. Very impressive.
I would bet my left nut Chisolm was at Eaves.
