I was an avid fan and I watched it real time, and I was not disappointed at all with the ending. I never mind loose endings with unanswered questions. Life for these characters is not ending, their lives go on even if the audience is no longer a part of it.

You could look at it that way, I suppose.


I kind of saw it as how far their characters had come. Tom was an actual respectable business man who still had his "treat yo self" core. Andy found purpose and focus with Johnny Karate, but he was still Andy. That flash forward where they go to Ben and Leslie's for Halloween, and Andy asks where the kids are. Ben tells him they are with the grandparents and it was an adults only evening.....and Andy dejectedly sinks into the couch like a toddler. We cried laughing.
