I have Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in from netflix. I need to watch that b/c I haven't seen anything by him. Film nerds seem to love him though so I'm excited.

my fav thing about him is his portrayal of family in relation to identity. volver, bad education, and all about my mother are also great movies imo. but, idk how many guys would react to some of them since there are heavy LGBT themes in some of those movies.

hmm, yeah, your typical TD'er would probably call it euro-fig-trash. I think I can dig it though. Reading up on him, one of his recurring themes is the resiliency of females and their capacity to nurture, or how gender is malleable. Gender politics and role reversals usually make for thought provoking ideas. And that's pretty cool.
