I watched. Thought it was awesome. So much we don't know still. Preview from next week looked good too.

So I just finished watching and wow, had no idea Delores and Jeffrey Wrights character were seeing each other in private and how he possibly has something to do with it. It answered some questions but created more. Like what's that gun about that Delores picked up? How did the black prostitute wake up after that dream with the man in black and what was that about? Why the hell is that guy making his friend do all the stuff he wants to do and not let him do his own sh*t? What an @sshole. Totally c*ckblocked him with Delores there at the end.

I watched it on HBO GO. Really enjoyed the opening scene with Jimmi Simpson going through Westworld orientation.

I've been extremely impressed with both episodes so far. Can't wait for next week.

Another thing I noticed is that whenever Delores has her "flashback" sequence, you don't know when that was but I'm going to assume that it was the "incident" 30 years ago and that Ed Harris was somehow involved. Maybe he was the only guest survivor and that's why that Hemsworths character said that he can do whatever he wants.

The awakening by thandie's character reminded me of ex machina. It's clear that several of these bots are harboring residual memories that cant be erased.

I think it could be one of the "actual" guns that the guests carry that can actually do harm. I still haven't figured out the gun play aspect and how a human carrying a gun that can do harm can't harm other humans in the same realm. But I could just be functionally retarded.

I was thinking the same thing that whole time.
Of course he mentions to the one host that he's not a "friend". So I'm assuming he possibly went becauee he works with this guy.
I was also surprised by the Jeffrey Wright hook up. I thought for sure she was fricking the narrative writer.
My top questions/notes about the episode:
1) We see that the company is aware of Ed Harris's character and mentions that he can do whatever the hell he wants. So who the frick is this guy? Biggest baller ever? Possibly a connection to another company still?
2) I still think Anthony Hopkins character is behind the "These violent delights mean violent ends" chaos. I strongly suspect he wants the company to collapse from the inside out to avoid whatever "larger" plan is to be had that keeps getting subtly dropped. That he feels incredibly guilty for what he's created.
3) Its interesting to see how the AI is evolving with the dreams/nightmares. That latent memory with Thandie Newton/the Indians/the Man in Black was intense and fricking terrifying.

My thoughts as well

I think it's the code or programming written into the simulation that allows this.

Still a bit of mystery with his character, but at least we know for sure he's a guest now. Think he wants to find a way to stay in the simulation permanently.

I think the chapel is the opposite of feeling guilty. He has a God complex and the update is his way of trying to turn the hosts into sentient beings with him as their God.

I remember the host saying to Jimmy in the orientation room when he asks if the guns are real, she says "they're real enough, but you can't hurt the other guests with them."
About Ed Harris' character, I think he was part of the "incident" that happened 30 years ago. He's viewed as the bad guy in the show, but I think the twist is he's not a bad guy at all. I think the reason they let him do whatever he want is that whatever happened 30 years ago, he was the only survivor. That's probably why he can afford to go all of the time as much as he does. I think he's been trying to figure out why what happened 30 years ago happened, and trying to make sure it doesn't happen again. Which is what seems to be the case. I think the bad guy in this case is either Anthony Hopkins or Jeffery Wrights character, who has tinkered with the hosts to where they can be more unpredictable.

Any idea what was going on with Anthony Hopkins and the kid? My only guess is that the kid was a "host" Hopkins modeled on himself as a child.

One thing I'm having an issue with. We are led to believe in the first episode that the park is a physical place that you actually go to. Real place in the real world. Yet jimmy walks thru a door and is immediately on a moving train. Trying to wrap my head around it.

I think its physical. Got on the train (room) at a stop and realized it was a train when it accelerated (emerging from the tunnel).
