If you haven't seen the Pitch Meeting for it, it's pretty good.

"Why can't he hear the bell?"
"Because he doesn't believe in Santa yet."
"But he's literally standing in the North Pole surrounded by elves."
"Yeah, but he's still like ehhhhhhhh, maybe not."

Agree … put it on for the 2 year old last week, having never seen it, and felt like it was more a showcase of “amazing new technology / animation capability!” 20 years ago than a well written and memorable movie.

It sucks because they tried to make it a thriller suspenseful action movie which is not at all what the book was about

I don’t think it’s a great movie, but I think it’s good and unique.

That part is awesome where they sing “Santa Clause is Coming To Town” and he opens the door and his shadow is there and they go wild.
See, that part is one of the reasons I don’t like it. It’s creepy and feels like a damn cult

I spent the whole first week of December 2023 in the hospital with pneumonia.I saw it with commercials on the hospital's cable in the middle of the night and was really bothered by it. I thought it had something to do with me already being cold from running a fever, but I guess it really is a bad movie that didn't make me feel good at any point.

ETA: I didn't think any Christmas movie would heal me, but I wanted a moment like a bell ringing with a little girl saying an angel is getting it's wings, or a little boy saying God bless us every one to Scrooge, or mailmen bringing a bunch of bags filled with letters to Santa into a courtroom, I just wanted a little tingle and didn't get it. I kept feeling miserable and didn't fall asleep quickly.
