Decent action but too many fairies, elves and magic....a 6 at best...

I saw the positive reviews for it and gave it a shot. I couldn't get through 20 minutes of it.

I can understand this point of view. It really should have been better than it was. In contrast to the protests of the OP, most people felt it didn't explore the fantasy side of the world enough. For me the biggest problem was chemistry of the leads. The action was fine, but all of the early banter between Joel Edgerton and Will Smith was intended to be funny and it just wasn't. I don't know if it was the writing or Edgerton not being Martin Lawrence, but fix that and the movie goes from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Agreed... Decent concept but there were many headscratching moments
