Wow! I mean Wow! A incredible movie to watch. Chris Kyle is a true American hero. The movie made me at the end since it was so powerful

I feel like it's a bit overrated, but still very good nonetheless. And it's one of the few times I can say that I actually read the book.

I imagine it's "better" to people who didn't know what happens to Kyle in the end; since I knew that happened, the ending wasn't a shock to me and the whole movie itself was fairly tragic for me.

So the book is better than the movie?

Re-watched it flying over the weekend. It's pretty damn awesome. Excellent action scenes, Cooper is badass and its just a really sad weird ending.

Why does crazy shite like that always have to happen to good guys. Such a damn shame.

the good guys put themselves in harms way more often than not.

the cowards hide.

Movie that every true American needs to watch and respect. up there with Saving Private Ryan.

being a shitty movie critic, I feel that the movie was missing something. have not seen it since November so I would need to re-watch to narrow down my critique. I just remember leaving the theatre thinking it was good, not great.

That was ridiculous. It was blatent.

And yea, it was hard to make it "great" I guess with everyone knowing the ending.

Def in the good but not great category for me.

I guess. I'm not a huge book reader, so I don't normally get into books, but it one was good though (although weird at times).

I guess I'd say I enjoyed the book more than the movie, but that's because I didn't think the movie was overly amazing.

Felt the same. Maybe I just had to high of expectations, but still feel like Eastwood just skimmed over the story.

Agreed. It was entertaining, but I didn't leave with the sense of American pride so many others did. I found the main character to be unlikable, and I admittedly couldn't get past my bias towards our involvement in Iraq.

But that's just me. If you enjoyed it, great.

I didn't realize until recently that the actor who played Kyle ' s brother is Todd Cleary from Wedding Crashers.

Not even close

This is one thing that sort of bugs me about AS. It's good, but nowhere near SPR. Like not even remotely close to being in the same vicinity. I get why they are compared, but IMO they shouldn't be at all, and it's a slight to SPR for it to be compared to AS.

SPR is a war movie (or just movie in general) that is on another level than American Sniper.

The fake baby, terrible CGI in the drone scenes, and the stupid slow motion of the bullet leaving his gun took away from it big time. The baby scenes were just so amateur that you have to wonder how anybody involved with this movie would let those scenes roll out

The Hurt Locker was a much better Iraq movie IMO.

I liked Lone Survivor better too.

Youve got to be shitting me?! Who fricking cares. It added/took absolutely nothing away from the movie.

This.

I was expecting a Blackhawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, or Lone Survivor, and it wasn't even close.
