MBJ won*

Denzel earned it without the DEI help which is the issue

Compare those performances and it’s laughable that they’re in the same category.

MBJ was only competing against other performances this year. What happened 30 years ago isn’t relevant.

You can put him up against any Oscar winner and it’s laughable. Are you playing dumb or being dumb?

Earned
Awarded (voted)

Do you believe these words mean the same thing?

well before the DEI rules for the Academy

Which are in place for best picture only. And which seem to be forgotten whenever a non-black actor wins best actor, which has been 92/98 Academy Awards.

Did Jordan win this role through DEI, even though it features a majority black cast, and was written and directed by a guy he's made 4 films with previously?

Did DEI gross almost $400 million dollars for Sinners and keep it in the cultural conversation for 11 months? Did all these majority white academy members get to together and collude to award the actor from the biggest movie in the category?

This is not a reasonable line of questioning. Leo has already won, Chalamet played an unlikeable character and is younger than is typically awarded here, Wagner had the most understated performance in the least seen movie, and Ethan Hawke was the happy just to be there nomination. The popular actor from the popular movie winning the popular vote should not feel suspect to you.

So, who decides if it was earned or awarded? If you won, you earned it.

According to most of TD, no black person does anything without DEI. He didn’t earn it, it was given to him. They’re extremely racist and they don’t even realize it.

Okay, they’re not the same.

Now, you answer my question. Who decides?

Simple question : Do you agree with the Academy DEI policy for Best Picture, which often provides Best and Supporting Actors and Actress nominations or do you think it should be merit based without the current racial based quotas?

I would argue Denzel Washington should have won for Malcolm X or Fences. He was good in Training Day but that's par for the course for him. Russell Crowe should have won that year for A Beautiful Mind.

So what you're saying is you agree that the color of some one's skin should come before talent when hiring? And you call me a racist? That's comical.
