Mace was the jedi weapons master, likely yodas superior in lightsaber fighting. I am agree that yoda was a stronger overall jedi. But my point still stands that the emperor would have dominated yoda if he toyed with mace.

I love how everyone knocks on "fanboys" of any kind, but this thread is already up to almost sixty posts in three hours...on a Sat. Bunch of geeks on here.

It's not that he toyed with him, Mace is probably right behind Palpatine and Yoda as far as fighting skills go.

In the above quote from Obi Wan, he would have said rivaled Mace if he was the best.

The fight with Yoda and Palpatine was a very different fight. Much more force based. Yoda is the better fighter than Mace, and the better swordsman. No slight on Mace, but Yoda has him beat.

Hey no judgement. Just pointing out that anyone on here calling someone else a fanboy is generally ironic.

I'm a proud fanboy. I feel bad for kids these days who don't get to really enjoy Star Wars. They don't have something like that to enjoy like we do.

He got his arse kicked by Ewan McGregor.

For your thought to work, you also have to believe either

the emperor was able to 100% predict others actions

Or

He was a fool to gamble with what anakin would do.

Which is it?

Only after the dark side took over, and fricked with his head. If he had gone on stayin good, he would've ended up more powerful than Yoda...which I think is the correct answer to this thread.

It is a little of both. He get's the same visions as Anakin, and he can see the future. However, it is still a gamble seeing as he didnt see Vader turning back.

In order for your thought to work, Anakin had to have been going there to save Palpatine, not help Mace like he was doing.

Was Anakin the most powerful Star Wars character? quote: Was Anakin the most powerful Star Wars character? The fact that there can only be two Sith was a big part of the end of ESB and all of RoTJ. Vader and the Emporer were competing for Luke. Yup. One of the Sith's greatest strengths and greatest weaknesses.

I'm actually reading the darth bane trilogy right now about this and they are awesome books for those interested. I catch myself wondering many time what system is better. On one hand only 2 doesn't leave much room for error but it did work finally by palpatine

This is another problem with Star Wars discussions. Do we include the books or no?

In sw universe with the force it isn't that hard to believe the emperor could predict these things or feel them .

If we do I agree that there are many characters that we could throw in there. Maybe my favorite that I wish had more books for is revan. He was unique in that after his Jedi to Sith to Jedi transfers he really stayed down the middle in his philosophies and powers. For this reason he could do many things the Jedi would not and was really an outcast but very powerful. The book on him only touches on what a badass he really was.
