If you want to watch a bunch of zombies being killed, then watch all those crappy movies that came out 10 years ago. If you want character driven drama then watch the Walking Dead.
I love this argument. The false dichotomy of either you only want to watch zombies get killed or you only like watching the characters talk... I mean develop. There are ways to have characters develop without them just sitting around arguing.
For example, in BSG and Supernatural, you learn about the characters through their words and their actions. In Stargate Universe and The Walking Dead, you only learn about the characters through their arguing. The only time the plot advances is the season finale and the season premiere; the rest is just glorious "character development." I guess I just I prefer some story too.
The characters can do other things besides kill zombies, which would make the show more interesting than the incessant arguing and shitty/ bitchy women.
It sounds like form limited comments on the comics is that the comics advanced the story by killing characters. Further, it seems the highlights of the show and the plot advancing has been when characters have been killed. As stated earlier in this thread, TV limits the show from killing characters at the same rate as the comic. Thus, no plot advancement.

I've seen every episode, but I don't really enjoy them anymore. This show lives off of its subject matter alone IMO.

The show needs to get back to its exploration roots..I mean for crying out loud, everyone watching wants to see how other places fared. Also having the group meet others and then coming to the conclusion of "F-This running crap" and go full-ape sh*t crazy and have them seek out every zombie and wipe them out. Bring in Michael Mann to do some unbelievable directing and make some instant classic episodes. Now with the series being so popular, forget these actors no one has ever heard of. Bring in seasoned well known tv and cinema stars not working for a few episodes and let their acting greatness run off on others on the series.
