Vivacious Lady any good? (Ginger & Jimmy)

The 1938 film? It's been almost forty years since I watched it. I seem to recall it being a pretty decent, three-star level vintage comedy. Good, but not approaching the status of a classic or anything. The film probably gets cited more often than not just because of the popular durability of the two stars, Ginger Rogers and Jimmy Stewart.

I generally like Ginger Rogers, primarily in her 1930s films. After "Kitty Foyle" (1940) and all the attention and acclaim she got for that, I tend to find her performances a bit too calculated and self-conscious. I saw her at an event once, very late in her life, and got to observe her for over an hour, meeting and signing autographs for people. She was exceptionally gracious and nice to everyone. It impressed me. Leonard Maltin hosted the event. Saw Burgess Meredith there too that night. And George Montgomery, whom I talked a bit to.
