That's dumb, they need to go off script at this point then.

Show without Ragnar loses all luster to me. All of a sudden Odyn comes down from the heavens smiting all the Englishmen and Ragnar is set free to lead the remaining armies of the world to fight Vlad Putin.

Do it!

This is the history channel. I doubt they go off "script" that far.

What? They're already off-script. The History Channel isn't exactly an academic exercise.

This made me because South Park's History Channel Thanksgiving/Ancient Aliens episode immediately popped into my head.

All these new episodes have sucked. Done watching once Ragnar is dead. The sons actors saved for Bjorn-Ivar suck at acting. The show will turn into a red box special soon.

That's why I said "that far."

But Ecbert dies 6 years before Ragnar is killed so it's not accurate at all. Ragnar was still raiding when he was kidnapped and killed. Not roaming through the countryside with Ivar giving piggyback rides like it's a Family Values infomercial. He's fricking Ragnar Lothbrok not Jon Cryer.

And Ragnar and Rollo were not brothers.

Exactly. I'd rather ragnar be captured after a battle than this portrayal of him.

Nah. I've particularly enjoyed Lagertha taking over Kattegat and killing Aslaug (such a long time coming). I'm stoked as hell to see Rollo, Bjorn, and Floki do what they do on their journey. You could damn near run a season on that alone.

I'm over Ragnar's character at this point and I'm ready for him to go. And ready to see the retaliation in the wake of his death.

Ragnar's death is inevitable. Better they get it over with and move on to the retaliation

I will say, that while it'll be sad to see him go the show has done a good job of tearing him down as a character to soften the blow so to speak. I think I'd be more upset if a Ragnar in his prime went down on the show.

I'm far more excited about Rollo being back in Viking-esque action.

Bump.

I'm curious if he dies tonight.

I think they'll stretch one more episode out of him.

Agreed. I was hoping for one more trick up his sleeve, like popping out of his coffin to kill everyone, but it looks like he has accepted his fate, and just wants to spark the revenge campaign.

Maybe so. The Vikings Facebook page has been doing this thing where they reveal a 3D printed item related to each episode. Tonight's is a snake.

They're also doing a marathon starting with the last episode of the first half of the season.
Something big is going down tonight.
