Pretty brutal treatment of the kid.

So he really isn't Ragnar's?
Posted on 12/21/16 at 8:46 pm to eddieray
Not sure. Ragnar could have lied I guess.

So more athelstan flashbacks, damn these two alpha males are really fricking gay for him

Seems like he is Ragnar's and Ragnar was trying to save him from being ecberts pet and eventual likely death

That other kid is really the Kings right?

Alfred was Athelstan's. Magnus looked like the king

No. They are both scoundrels and recognized a true holy man when they saw one.

This was a really good episode. Ragnar manipulating Ecbert at the end was awesome. Ecbert will regret giving up Ragnar to that a-hole.

Didn't think of it like that. Nice work

I think Afelwolfe(sp?) realized this wasn't Ragnar's son the entire time and was only protecting him to stay in his fathers good graces because Ecbert's friendship with Ragnar. And once, his beliefs were confirmed (not Ragnar's son) that the kid must be Ecbert's love child with the Queen and therefore a major threat to his ascendance to the thrown. Hence why he kicked his arse out in the cold rain.
I don't know the history of Magnus so I'm not sure if this comes back around to bite them in the arse in the years to follow or if I am correct on my theory stated above.

Ecbert wasn't manipulated. He's grown tired of his partner. He is in effect giving the order for Clemenza to make the hit.

As far as I know, there was a Magnus Barefoot, but this person came way later in the 12th century.

Magnus was a great military leader. Won his share of glory until he ran into Caesar in greece and then got his head chopped off.

HISTORICAL SPOILERS
No. Ragnar's days are numbered. Aella is the one who killed him in real life.
The show is either wrapping up soon or it's gonna be about his sons from here out.

I think it will play out until Alfred is successful at fending off the Vikings.
