Yuck. Already off to a bad start. Gunn staying. Abdy and DeLuca gone. Bad decisions.

Studio chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy are out at Warner Bros
Not really surprised. 2025 was incredible for them, but that's been their only successful year.

Mistake to keep Gunn, his overall vision of what DC is sucks.

They have a lot in the pipeline. It makes sense to ride it out and see how it performs. MOT will be huge for Gunn. If that underperforms ( I think it'll do well), he'll be gone.

More importantly, according to several insiders, in the midst of a shakeout that is seeing executives stay or exiting, DC heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are staying put. At least for the foreseeable future.
Multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the duo met with Ellison in person Thursday and that the meeting was positive. The pair were asked to stay and “keep doing what you’re doing,” per one source.
But it’s unclear how the two heads, and DC in general, fit into the organizational structure of Skydance. It is unknown to whom Gunn and Safran would report, whether it would be straight to Ellison or if it would be layered underneath Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, the current Paramount film heads who are expected to oversee both film studios, while current Warner film chiefs, Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, are being shown the door. (At Warner Bros. Discovery, Gunn and Safran reported directly to CEO David Zaslav.)
At this point, it is known that Ellison is supportive of Gunn and Safran and wants them to continue leading. The general consensus is they should at least see through the releases of the movies that are either completed or in post-production, namely the upcoming horror thriller Clayface (Oct. 23), and the especially Man of Tomorrow, the big-budget Superman sequel that opens July 2027. In a show of support, Ellison visited the Atlanta set of that movie over the summer.

Agreed, which is good for Gunn. I expect MOT to perform well.
Yes they can't announce his firing months before a 250 million tentpole film with his name on it releases. He was always staying on for now
If MOT sucks like Lanterns and Supergirl then we have a conversation

That's fair, but the new THR article I just posted sounds like good news for Gunn and Safran. I'm not the biggest fan either, but it makes sense to keep them. You can't keep rebooting DC.

In related news...if it can do over 30, that would be a good start

Why isn't TBS or TruTV listed?

If it doesn’t work out and Gunn is gone, I think they should pause on DC films for a long while. But they won’t.
Or pivot away from live action for a while and start releasing their excellent animated DC films in theaters.
