Don't know, but that does look awesome.

i watched it online. Its pretty damn good. I saw Carmelo Anthony in the credits as an EP, he must've thrown down the cash for that fake title.
basically goes through his whole life with tyson telling about how he fricked up everything spliced with old clips of his fights, outbursts etc.

Wow, in the trailer he comes across like a competent guy who actually knows what he's done wrong.

I've heard he is. He knows he is fricked up in the head and readily admits it.

yeah he's open about what he was thinking throughout the whole thing. People forget how much of a bitch Holyfield was with the head butts just because Tyson was the evil rape guy and then he bit him.

It got a great review from the Wall Street Journal critic, who is usually very harsh, but fair. I figure I'll check it out in a few months when it comes out on DVD. James Toback is pretty hit or miss, but I think he knows how to get the best out of Tyson since they are kind of friends in real life.
If I remember correctly, Toback paid for most of the films expenses out of his own pocket, but he needed about a million dollars at the end, and he got about 500 grand from Carmelo.
ETA: It was actually 900 grand.

quote:
The director used his own money to launch the project quickly when Mr. Tyson went into rehab, ultimately spending about $2 million, he says. He later sought out investors, including National Basketball Association star Carmelo Anthony, to cover about $900,000 in remaining expenses, such as buying rights to some archival footage. To turn a profit, "Tyson" must first recoup the amount that its distributors, including Sony Pictures Classics in the U.S., paid for the original purchase and ongoing marketing of the movie. Mr. Toback says, "Unless the movie is a big success, Mike and I will not get anything."

Dude had 200 million when he came out of jail...
