Okay, I just saw where Twister lost both of the Oscars it was nominated for.

It lost Best Visual Effects to Independence Day. Just because ID4 had more VFX than Twister doesn't make it better. For 1996, the storm effects in Twister were state-of-the-art.

And Twister lost Best Sound to The English Patient...I don't even know what to say about this.

This movie really is much better than it even needs to be. As cool as the tornado visuals are, you could listen to the audio of the movie and it would still be pretty dang enjoyable.
