Surely they are having another season as they left too much unsaid

That was the definition of getting Lynch'd

so are they in another universe again? this feels like another Blue Rose

Wow...so my friends and I after Part 17 were blown away. Felt like the finale. Incredible hour of television re-using alternate takes from the original series and Fire Walk With Me. Just spine tingling throughout. Coop changes Laura's path but should he have?
Then, Part 18. So many questions. Chalfonts and Tremonds. New owners of the Palmer home but still a darkness resides within...just with a new set of victims. And Cooper still "lost in the woods" so to speak. Will Cole come find him as requested?
Now full disclosure...I'm a fan boy. I know we are never going to get all the answers. I don't want all of them. The mystery is the heart and soul of the journey...
Lynch definitely left it with enough meat on the bone to justify a 4th season.
Will we get one? I for one would watch...

Guys...I watched the 2 episodes in the wrong order. I watched Part 18 and then Part 17 on accident, not realizing that the DVR recorded them as 2 separate episodes.
Honestly, I think I liked it better that way. All the old footage and music made it seem like a more fitting final piece and it fit the whole "Is It Future Or Is It Past" theme. Julee closing it out was so fitting.
Not even mad. We got fricking lynched though. I'd love a Season 4, but you've got to end it at some point. Don't think we get another given the lack of financial success. I'd love to see Super Cooper and Laura's odyssey back to the TP we know and love

Yep...if 17 were the finale everyone would be satisfied. 18 is a tease...was the Cooper in 18 a combination of Good/Bad Coop...the real, complete Dale Cooper comprised of both his best and worst halves?
What did Laura tell him? Whatever it was had him horrified.

and what was Sarah Palmer supposed to be?
Posted on 9/3/17 at 11:57 pm to hsfolk
My opinion...Sarah Palmer was possessed by the Mother/The Experiment. She is the mother of abominations, the living embodiment of the evil that men do...Birthed with the dawn of the atomic age. This is the water and this is the well.
The scene with her smashing Laura's photo...was Judy's anger of losing her meal of pain/suffering when Coop intervened in Laura's death. So strange.
Of course I could be wrong on all of this. Totally open to any viewer's own interpretation.

I really don't think this is the end, but a new beginning

Holy Mother of shite. Too much to process at this point. Blown away. Loved 17 loved. Loved loved it. 18 seemed like episode 1 of season 4. Still incredible. So many questions.
Posted on 9/4/17 at 12:18 am to Tiger Ryno
so what happened to Laura after Cooper saved her?
Posted on 9/4/17 at 12:26 am to Tiger Ryno
Cliffhanger ending ala Season 1 and Season 2...but not as jarring. More of a disappointment in Dale Cooper. A flawed hero attempting to save the girl in an endless time loop. No match for the entities behind the scenes and the Chalfonts and Tremonds of the world.
Almost Dark Tower-esque.
Really confused by the Coop/Diane 430 mile trip/hotel layover. Who were they? Who did they become?

If there is a season 4 then the young Sarah and what happened exactly would be great goto material.
Ep 17 was maybe the best hour of television ever, though ep 16 was close. Ep 18 was intentionally drug out for anti-climactic purposes. Still overall I'm glad Lynch brought a lot of unexpected elements to season 3 rather than a nastaligia-fied remake of the original. It will make rewatches much more fulfulling and interesting in the same way that a band like Led Zeppelin kept making different sounding albums that had a tendency to piss fans off but allowed new fans to get lost in the versatility and old fans to look back and appreciate the fact that Zeppelin didn't just keep making the same album.
If Lynch leaves it here, I'm fine with that and if he makes a season 4 then I'll be excited to see it.

Well said. I didn't even care that they didn't revisit Audrey's story and all that jazz at the road house. I was thinking maybe she was jarred out of her coma when Cooper reversed the past meaning that evil coop maybe never happened and thus Richard was never born... I don't know.
The biggest question. I have is what did he mean in 18 when he stops at the 430 mile mark and gets out and days "this is the place" then he tells Diane to kiss him and that "once we cross we will only be able to be friends".
Wtf.
There is still a great setup for a season 4 if they wanted it but I'm good if it ends there. Hell. It could have ended after 17 and it would have been fulfilling. 17 was freaking incredible.

Can't wait to rewatch 17...everything I could have hoped as a fan.

Yeah I have no idea, I'm curious about that as well. I'm gonna order the Secret History of Twin Peaks soon from Amazon though. I wonder if that storyline was intentionally new in order to take us into season 4. It was creepy in that great Lynchian way, especially the sex scene.
Posted on 9/4/17 at 9:39 am to Othello
The sex scene was almost a ritual...just seemed wrong. Any connection to the summoning of "The Mother" with the 2 young lovers in New York in part 1?
The playing of "My Prayer" over that scene just increased the feeling of dread. Same song that was playing at the radio station in Part 8.
This is where I'm at with the whole thing (at least for now), an imperfect hero attempting to save the girl that can not be saved. Carrie (Laura) had no memories of Twin Peaks until the last instant in front of the Palmer house...then was hit with a flood of the experiences of trauma hence the ending scream (repressed memories, subconscious past lives affecting one's current state.)
As much as you try to fix things, you can not change the past. Almost a statement on the series itself.
If there is a Season 4, Cooper will not be the one to save the day. It has to be Laura. She is the One.

I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. Seriously. I thought it was ridiculous. All the euphoria of part 16 with Coop waking up just to completely neuter his character for 2 hours. No emotion, no charm, just some dude named Richard inside a dream. Sweet.
As silly as 17 was, I could live with it. 18 was a complete mess, and the only way I can look at it without being nearly depressed is yeah, I hope that would set up season 4.
This was St Elsewhere level trolling, and the finale really soured my view of the entire season 3.
