So why would one of them drag the body of Dora Lange, antlers and all, to be found by the police. Why would that person START A FIRE to make sure the police and fire department had to descend on the area and discover the body?
It seems pretty obvious to me now that Dora Lange was a plant. Perhaps she had truly been killed in the usual fashion by the cult, but if that’s the case, it seems like one of the members had a bout of conscience and wanted to get caught. After that, Tuttle and his people tried to take over the investigation “jimminy quick with a fricking task force,” as Cohle pointed out last weekend. But Cohle avoids making the next leap, which is that while the symbolism (antlers, spiral tattoo) clearly represents the modus operandi of the cult, the public display absolutely does not
This is what I've been thinking about a lot. It's doesn't make much sense to me that the cult would only make a show of two dead girls out of the whole lot of them over a period of decades. As Rust said, "It's like someone having a conversation." Someone left a devil trap in the Marie Fontenot's aunt/uncle's outhouse that they did not find after she had gone missing. I've always figured that it was planted (by Marty though

absolutely but I do not agree with the writer of that article on who he thinks set up the scene. No way it was Rust. But then again the dude has broke pretty much every law in the book in the name of the greater good...

How old was Marie Fonteneau when she disappeared, and what year was that?
She was 10. The missing persons report was filed by her mother on May, 13, 1990.
Why do you ask?

Was Marie's body ever found?
No.
The question I have about the Fontenot situation is who was her mother seeing at the time Marie went missing. Aunt Fontenot seemed to cut her sentence short when discussing this. The aunt also gave the same excuse that Sheriff Tate did. The uncle seemed to get perturbed about the topic.

Must be the Rust Super Double Secret Undercover Theory.
To which I would add...it was very strange in E1 how the cajun man could not point the direction of Fontenot house until Rust slowly walked around Marty in the direction that the cajun man then pointed. Did Rust have something worked out with cajun man?

I was thinking that maybe she wasn't killed, just kept and abused. But, again, the Inside the Episode specifically said "sacrifice" so I guess that is as good a clue as any that she is dead.
My wife wondered if the burial vaults closer to the river in the final shot could have been where some of the bodies were placed.

Could be that Errol puts bodies in other people's tombs while he mowing the cemeteries. I just assumed they were all dumped in the bayous.

How fricked up would it be if Maggie was married to Eddie Tuttle, the senator? Hence, the big house now? They did make a point to show her with her husband in pictures when Marty came to visit.

It has been suggested that she could be married to a Childress also, which would be equally shitty.

Is there any significance to the older lady with dementia telling Russ about Carcosa and sounding really excited and passionate about it? She wasn't scared to talk about it, more like she had been apart of it.
idk. just something random I noticed
And, did they ever mention who Maggie remarried? Or, how she came to be in a much better financial situation?

Yeah they talked about all that in episode 9

I think the answer is that Erroll is his own man, less secretive than the older members of the cult. He wants to "make his mark".

Just finished re-watching the first 7 episodes. Really helped catch all the stuff I missed the first time. Also shows how awesome this show is. Breaking bad I had and have no desire to watch again. I was excited to re-warch TD.
quick question, when will episode 8 be available on HBOGO?

She's a Dr.
I assume she moved up to an attending position.
