Re-watching episode 1...what's the significance of the white haired state cop? Dude goes right in Marty after the 1st talk of the murder with the Captain. Then he's there beside the captain for the presser and again when they suspend Rust in 2002.

He's the Commander (I'm guessing of the CID unit, and therefore, Rust and Marty's boss' boss).

Yeah if you slow it down the legs look femine, and so do the hands, and the mid-section is absent a bulge or hint at a package...
Now the upper body appears to be shirtless and the chest seems flat enough to be a man but that doesn't rule out a woman...

A couple of questions that have been bugging me since the end of Ep 7 and I haven't had a chance to go back and watch earlier eps to help answer the questions.
How old was Marie Fonteneau when she disappeared, and what year was that?
On the video, we never actually see what happens, although the inside the episode refers to it as a sacrifice. Was Marie's body ever found?

Correct. Quesada and Salter are both Majors in their respective appearances. Speece (white haired guy in question) is Commander, and their boss. I'm not sure why a Captain's place in the pecking order is being discussed...
