yeah, not sure why AB went this route, esp if they are planning to continue for many more seasons since Calvin has a role throughout the books related to his role as a respected leader of the shifters of Hotshot and he and Sookie becoming fairly good friends/allies. Don't see that happening with AB's Calvin, but all in all, I do like the "darker" TV True Blood as compared to the light-hearted, more comedic book version.

Just avoid Charlaine Harris's books and stick with the series. I wanted to gouge my eyes out and perform on lobotomy on myself after reading Harris' vapid crap. Well, her books are great if you a 40 year old woman with 10 cats and a lot of cable knit sweaters. They just seem like silly wish fulfillment, but hey, they are best sellers...
