What I love is this movie was released only three months after Iron Man
Tropic Thunder promo pitch meeting with RDJ and Jack Black.

Be honest, how many of you weren't sure that Les Grossman was Tom Cruise until the credits?
This was 100% me.
When I saw the movie in theaters and when I saw Tom Cruise's name at the end of the credits, I said what the frick? Where in the world was he in this movie? But then a couple minutes later, I put it together and realized it was him as Les Grossman. By far the best part of the movie, him or Downey.

Downey can improv with the best of them. I guarantee not a word of this is scripted.

None of those are better comedies than Tropic Thunder.

Cruise told him it was missing something and Cruise came up with the character Grossman and talk Stiller into letting him play the part.
He also demanded two things. He wanted fat hands and he wanted to dance.

Side note: I love lagniappe scenes in the rolling credits, but if the extra scenes are put in to get you stay during credits, and nobody is reading who is credited for doing what, what's really the point?
I'd be pissed if my name in the credits was scrolling while Cruise was dancing.
