why?

I just think it is dumb for people to tell you that liking that movie would apparently make you the dumbest person ever because onkly they know what is a "good" movie
you're talking about the wrong end of the spectrum
if you want to argue what good movies are great and what great movies are only good, that's one thing
piles of shite are fricking piles of shite

but if you go to a movie like this expecting a well developed plot and seemless flow then you're setting yourself up for disappointment from the get go.
i think people were hoping for ANY plot and a flow that somewhat was coherent

the two movies in this series left me thinking about it for days after.
what exactly were you thinking about?

Actually no. I prefer my home theater.
I only go to the theater for movies like Transformers, Star Trek, LOTR, Cloverfield, etc... movies that have more impact on the big screen.

if you didn't like the 1st one you will not like this one because the 1st one is way better!

I enjoyed the hell out of it. The first one was probably better overall, but the fight scene in the forest tops anything in either two movies.
And, it was a better sequel than Matrix Reloaded or Pirates: Dead Man's chest, not that that means much, but it did what a sequel is supposed to do, bring back the good stuff and add cool new things. Autobot twins aside, I had a great time.

Ironhide,Ratchet & Sideswipe roles were not big enough imo because Sideswipe looked sweet!

I agree with that. We didn't see as much of the original Autobots in the 2nd one as in the first. Also, I was surprised that Soundwave apparently just floated around in space the entire time.

They should have done the same computerized synthetic voice like it was in the cartoon instead of the devil voice from spawn.
Also I have seen a few people bitching about the Museum part. Didn't Jetfire do some kind of lightspeed time warp thing before they walked outside. Because I specifically remember him saying it's the only way to travel.

I just remember him busting down the door. He said that space bridge stuff later.
To give Michael Bay the benefit of the doubt, I'm pretty sure that the museum they were in is actually located about 40 miles outside of DC (There are 2 Smithsonian Air & Space museums). Still not in the desert though. That was a big frick up.

He said it later because they asked about it, I am pretty sure he did it in the museum though. I will pay close attention when I go back tomorrow.

He does the space jump thing after they are already outside in the desert. They jump from that desert to Egypt.

I was more or less asking. I thought I remembered them doing some time warp travel thing from the museum to egypt. I didn't recall them being in some other desert.

Yeah, I don't remember this second desert either. He busts out of the museum, and they walk into a field with a bunch of old planes. Sam draws the symbols in the ground with a knife, and then Jetfire teleports them to the desert. I guess maybe the scenery in the field made some people think it wouldn't be near DC? I dunno, I didn't really notice.

I read through all of this thread... whew.
I went and saw it last night. I might as well give my 2 cents...
Pros: I really enjoyed it for what it was. A typical Michael Bay action flick with revered characters. CGI was amazing. It was fun, loud, and technically awesome.
Cons: Of course, the plot is going to be crazy. I get it, but I wish Bay would respect the audience a bit more. The Smithsonian into the desert? The RC decipticon/chihuahua thing? Jetfire with a cane just cause he's old? Come onnnnn. I sit there and enjoy one scene and am completely frustrated with the next one. This happens in every Michael Bay movie, but it seemed more prevalent in this one.
Imagine if JJ Abrams had a crack at the Transformers movies and put the same amount of effort as he did in Star Trek. They could've gone done as cult classics. Now they're just typical forgettable action movies. That's my frustration with G.I. Joe as well.
You know, we could go and make a drinking game out of Michael Bay movies. Drink every time he uses his cliche shots like the camera looping around characters multiple times, sliding the camera into blinding sunlight glare for dramatic effect, an upward slow motion shot of helicopter blades, etc. I'd be drunk within the first hour.

Jetfire busts through the wall of the D.C. museum in to the outside area with planes...which is in a desert. The ground they are on is SAND. Around them are some mountains (also a sign they are nowhere near D.C.). Jetfire stumbles around a little while longer, then Sam finally calms him down and starts to draw the symbols (in the SAND). Jetfire talks about it being the language of the Primes. Then moments later he space jumps them from the desert plane area to Egypt. Then Jetfire continues with more exposition from there.

Ah I remember now. They are like in a boneyard. Yeah I remember Sam drawing the symbols on the ground.

That's dead grass, not sand.
But still, it doesn't look like an area around DC.

Sand mixed with dead grass IMO, LOL. It's a place in Arizona supposedly.
