Pretty awesome movie.. just watched it. i would recommend it.

It was as uplifting as a movie about drug-addiction could be.

One of my top 3 favorite movies.
I made friends of mine watch it and they commented on how disgusting parts of it were. I had to tell them the book was much worse, they actually cleaned up some scenes for the movie.
Still, great movie. Was hoping they would do the sequel, but, it may not happen.

The movie is great, but I'll second the recommendation for the book. It is actually pretty different from the movie, and the most horrifying scenes and characters don't even appear in the film. Which might be a good thing.

Irvine Welsh wrote a sequel to the book called Porno. It's terrible.

Porno was good, but I don't know if it could be made into a sequel.

Funny, I was think about this movie the other day, it seems to get better each time I watch it.

I thought Porno was a good book. I just thought it was written more as a sequel to the movie and not the original book.
BTW, Welsh is working on a prequel to Trainspotting called Skagboys. This will supposedly tell the story of how Renton and the other characters got on Heroin to begin with.
Also, I liked the way Welsh worked Begbie and some other characters into some of his other novels. Just quick cameos, but, it was nice to see them pop in.

this was an amazing movie...my mass comm teacher told us about it and i decided to watch it. i really want to read the book now.
