Nuking the Fridge. Leia, there might be like a .001% chance of that happening. I can see a very slight argument if she was somehow slightly conscious. Hell maybe she pulled the ship towards her using the Force. Nuking the Fridge, no fricking way. It first off couldn't survive a nuclear blast, and secondly even if it did, Indy's entire body would be shattered.

Ha ha ha, both are completely ridiculous on film.

Both clearly exist in unrealistic universes, so you can’t apply realism to Indy and disregard it for SW.

Indy has always been far more realistic than SW, even with the magical artifacts.

Plus, the ability to use the force to move objects and transport ones self is well established in the movies and universe. We know Leah is strong with the force even if her abilities are untrained.

I can see why people didn't like the scene with Leah in Space, but it is at least somewhat plausible in the universe in which it resides.

A fridge is not a magical artifact, and implausibility seems to only happen in Indy when that implausibility is caused by a magical relic.

Indy and wacky arse escapes are par for the course in Indy movies. Fridge is definitely the worst example by a long ways. Raft scene anyone?

Fair enough. Even mythbusters said there was zero chance of surviving that.

They did say that the awnings escape was plausible, though.

I’m not knocking the raft scene in anyway though, I love that shite. The fridge scene was definitely too far.

TLJ and KotCS would of been better without those scenes. I think TLJ could of been saved, but Indy was a lost cause.

Do you think that the fact that you were likely 20 years younger when you first saw the raft scene contributes to you giving it more deference than the fridge scene?

Not really, I think it’s more cause I enjoyed the entire movie more that I was less likely to harp as harsh on some slapstick added to the movie. More easily forgave it. I still enjoy some silly slapstick in action movies.

I don’t think the Leia scene was meant to be viewed the same way as Indy’s crazy escapes.
