Top Chef...lack of female winners

I've been watching a few seasons recently and I was wondering if anyone could explain why women don't win more often when women spend most of their time in the kitchen. Thanks in advance.

Whereas in MasterChef a supposedly blind woman won the competition. Who's plating?
