I always assumed there was some wasted time in all this. Doc went straight there. I wonder if there is a deleted scene?

If I recall correctly there was a deleted scene surrounding the killing of McMasters so maybe it was in there. Regardless, I was always under the impression there was more time from when Wyatt takes off and that he didn't go straight there or took his time knowing he would likely die. Scene appears to suggest Ringo was waiting and that Doc didn't show up "on-time" when Wyatt was supposed to.

I agree.

Oh, and I watched the McMasters scene . Looks like Ike killed him.

Not that it explains anything, but Doc did tell Wyatt he wasn’t as sick as he let on. So he must have left from Hooker’s as soon as Earp and Co. left. And knew a shortcut

One of my all time favorite movies. Saw it 4 nights in a row at the Dollar Show at LSU and dozens of times since.
A book came out recently about the Earps and Tombstone. Really interesting.

The movie stayed pretty close to the true story. A lot of the quotes are in the history books. It was interesting there were more Earp brothers in Tombstone. The events with the Earps being killed/attacked were spread out over months and not in one night like in the movie. But the feel and structure were pretty much spot on. It was also interesting that in real life the Earps weren't considered the good guys by many. Both sides had a lot of supporters and detractors. History is definitely not black and white.

Probably not a surprise, but there was no Ringo duel. His cause of death is uncertain but many speculate it was a suicide as things fell apart.

The Curly Bill fight apparently went down pretty close to the movie version as well. I thought the movie was a little bit of an eye roll but it seems nothing was really embellished according to the people that were there.

Doc was interesting. Very violent and quick to pull a gun. But also incredibly inaccurate even for the time. And Big Nose Kate was not attractive. She had the nickname "Big Nose" for a reason.

I know movies will always make a movie more "Hollywood" for entertainment, but I was pleasantly surprised how close to truth (at least recorded truth) Tombstone actually is.
