Thrones Question-Who is Catelin's female bodyguard?

Does anybody know who the female bodyguard of the late Renley and now Catelin is? Is she Brianne Stark? Is she a cousin, sister, or in-law of Lord Stark? Why was she fighting for Renley in secret in the show two weeks ago? Who is the real life actress? Did she play basketball or softball at Tennessee in real life? Is she really that big ? She looks like 6'2' 220 to me. It's OK if you've read the books, I don't have time to read them,so let me know. Thanks.

Brienne of Tarth. They mentioned it several times during the show. You should try paying attention and you wouldn't have these problems.

A Wiki of Fire and Ice tells you alot. Caution: contains spoilers and are very addicting.
The actress that plays her is 6'3. But she is supposed to be near 7 foot ijn the book. That is why you never see anyone standing next to Brienne in the show.

She has been in several scenes previously, and had a dialogue with Cat in a previous episode, and a fight scene that established her character.

Just off the top of my head, I would say Brienne is taller than Renly and Jaime and significantly heavier than either, but nowhere near the size of Gregor Clegane, who is the true giant in the series. I always figured she was around 6.5 , 6.7. Any female over 6 feet is going to seem really tall. Any female over 6 and a half and wearing plate armor will look huge.

I thought the same thing. You'd be surprised how much time you make when you start getting addicted to this. A Storm of Swords was like crack (for the record, I've never taken crack, but I imagine it would be alot like that).
