How is this even close? The Mountain crushed a man's skull with his bare hands after being brought to near death.

Oberyn had him because he was using a spear that kept The Mountain out of reach. This is without weapons. If Oberyn didn't have any weapons, he couldn't have even been able to hurt The Mountain, much less kept from getting his head crushed a whole lot sooner.

Unarmored favors Drogo, but unarmed tips the scale for The Mountain. Drogo would have to get in close and there's no way he can deal out sufficient damage to take The Mountain down quickly enough.

The bottom line is that this is a fight to the death, and you can't kill a man with your bare hands without being within reach of HIS hands.
For this reason, the Mountain wins. There MUST be grappling to win this fight.
Drogo is an amazing warrior, but the Mountain is superhuman in size and strength. I just can't see him losing any fight under these specific conditions.

Mountain (before) I feel like Drogo has a decent chance, I give this one 50/50. Both were badass warriors.

It's mostly speculation as the books haven't said, but I'm thinking he's going to be an OT 10 on the badass scale.

Without weapons I'd think the raw size and power of the Mountain would give him the edge.Once he has his hands on you its over. With weapons I'd give the edge to Drogo.
