Of the many many things in the movie that didn't really make any sense, the fact that the playoffs weren't mentioned at all has always bothered me the most. I think the ending could've made more sense had they said something about it.

Despite all the faults I absolutely love this movie.

I just assume it’s the last game that team ever played. They forfeited the playoffs.

I assumed that too based on the fact Mox never played again, but since nothing else was mentioned I just always felt it had an unexplained ending.

No. Coach Kilmer explained it to Mix in the movie. Mox is like, we scored a TD and you're mad. It's not that. BK was looking at the big picture and the team football philosophy. He said he wanted to run the ball in order to control the clock and slow the game down. Maybe West Canaan did not have a good defense and needed the offense to eat clock and grind drives out to keep the D off the field.

Again, another instance were Mox acts like a spoiled brat. It's all about him. He doesn't even care about the team or Coyote Football. He's the starting QB who despises everything about football in that town.

Kilmer is living in the past, in matter of a few seasons Texas high school football is going to be dominated by spread football and Mike Leach style offenses.

Lance would be a hot coaching prospect very soon.

Billy Bob

now we are on to the biggest plot hole in the movie. Billy Bob would suck at football. Big fat guys like that are soft and slow. Especially for a run focused Kilmer offense that likely needed a pulling guard.

nah, the biggest is that Billy Bob definitely started falling before the snap on play where Lance got hurt.

he should have been flagged for a false start and play blown dead immediately. meaning Lance never even gets hit on that play.

That hook and ladder play call was pretty obvious.

Why did they even show it like that? His sign was a hook to the mouth and then climbing a ladder.

The other team should have been all over it. They could have called it the oopty oop, or anything else for that matter.

Did casual people watching the movie even know what a hook and ladder is?

Love this damn movie
