I enjoyed the first season a lot. I liked the second one as well but thought there were too many elements thrown in that could have just been left out.

I think the nun was my favorite character in season 1 as well.
I think either Sister Jude or Sister Mary Eunice were my favorite in season 2

There was a hot prisoner?
In season 1, I really liked how they started off each episode with a little backstory on one of the characters. We get to see what happened to Tate, we get to see how the maid died, we get to see how the burned guy got burned, etc. It made me really look forward to the next episode.
They didn't really do that in season 2. Still enjoyed season 2 though, the last 2 eps were great imo

I think Season 1 is a lot of fun, though it is the narrative equivalent of throwing pasta against the wall to see what sticks. Great fun, but a total incoherent mess.
Season 2 lures us in with the same crazy insanity, but then reveals itself to be a much deeper show with actual consequences. It is a show about what happens AFTER something horrible, and how it defines us. Really, I think S2 is sort of brilliant. I think it went from guilty pleasure to the best thing on television.

Grace made it move a few times.

her singing You Don't Own Me to the cross was one of my favorite parts of the season

Season 1 >>> Season 2, in my opinion.
I liked that they stuck to one supernatural theme the entire time instead of season 2 having three or four going on at once. Aliens, the devil, Nazis, medical experiment monsters, serial killers... it got to be too much.
